The Presidential Decree no. 1/2025 of 16 January created the Ministry of Communication and Digital Transformation, which is believed to be the body that will oversee all actions surrounding the government's intention to accelerate the digitalisation of public services and establish a more concise ICT regulatory framework that is open to digital business opportunities.
It is worth noting that even before the creation of this Ministry, the now defunct Ministry of Transport and Communication had already taken significant steps towards digital transformation.
